Robert Kubica will continue in place of Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Raikkonen at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.
Kubica, 36, replaced Raikkonen at last weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix after the Finn tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement released by Alfa Romeo Racing said: “Kimi missed last week’s race in Zandvoort after testing positive for Covid-19 and has not yet been cleared for a return to racing. As per health authority requirements, he is still isolating in his home.”
Kubica, who made an astonishing comeback to the sport with Williams in 2019, is the current reserve driver at Alfa Romeo.
Despite the late notice in Zandvoort, he performed admirably, finishing in 15th place ahead of both Williams drivers and only one position behind teammate Antonio Giovinazzi.
