Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has hit out at his club on social media amid ongoing interest from Everton.
In a message posted on his Instagram story, the England international said that “all I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play,” tagging Arsenal in the message.
Everton have been in talks to take the Englishman on a season-long loan, but the move has so far been blocked by the Gunners.
Maitland-Niles made his first appearance of the season in last week’s 6-0 League Cup win against West Brom, before coming off the bench in the 5-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
An Arsenal academy product, he has played 65 times for the club in the Premier League, most often at full-back but sometimes in central midfield, his preferred position. Amid interest from Leicester and Southampton, he joined West Brom on loan in January of last season after falling out of favour with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
He deserves to be playing regularly and is certainly good enough to be doing so in the Premier League.
